MARMALUKE HILT SWORD #3

      This sword belonged to Lieut.-General Robert Barclay Macpherson who lived at Viewfield, Stirling after he retired from long army service. The scabbard bears the inscription:

"Presented to his cousin CLUNY MACPHERSON on the occasion of the celebration
of his Golden Wedding 1882 by C.C. Johnston, Viewfield, Stirling."

A piece off the scabbard has been lost.

      The sword was purchased at the Cluny Castle sale in 1943.
