Sheila was born in India where her father was a banker. She was educated in Scotland and began work in London where she met William Macpherson. They were married in Edinburgh in 1962. A gracious consort to Sir William Macpherson of Cluny and Blairgowrie throughout his professional career and companion on their many travels to meet their clansfolk in Scotland and abroad.
