Shortly after the end of World War II, the drive to form a Clan Association was actively pursued. At a "memorable meeting" at the Cannon Street Hotel, London, a Promotional Committee was formed. On the 25th November 1946, at the Charing Cross Hotel, London, 26 people attended and agreed to proceed with the formation of the London Branch of the Clan Association. The Branch name was later changed to England & Wales. Niall M.S. Macpherson (later Lord Drumalbyn), as Honorary Secretary of the Promotional Committee, reported that there were 184 members.

Over the years the England & Wales Branch has continued to prosper and play an active part in the international arena of the Clan Association.

The Branch has been a considerable benefactor of the Clan Museum and recently agreed to sponsor the conservation treatment of one of the oil paintings. The present Chairman of Clan Macpherson Museum Trust is Bruce J.S. Macpherson, the Secretary of this Branch.

The main social events on the calendar of the England & Wales Branch are the Annual General Meeting held in May and the London Ball in November at the prestigious Caledonian Club. In 2008 and 2009, the Branch coincided their Annual General Meeting with an outing to the Isle of Wight and Clifton, Cumbria, respectively. In 2010, they plan to hold the Annual General Meetingin Dunkirk, France, the city where Cluny of the '45 died. All members are cordially invited to attend and should contact Bruce in advance for details.
