Each sleeve contains a card bearing:
(1) information about a specific POI located in Badenoch
(2) the map coordinates of the POI printed along the bottom of the card.
An example POI card can be viewed by clicking on Example Place of Interest
The sleeves are nested on the holder board such that the name of each POI and its coordinates are visible to facilitate searches.
Access to a specific POI card is accomplished by lifting the cards located above it.
Map coordinates have been placed around the periphery of the map. A set of coordinates for a POI has two components -- an east-west component and a north-south component. Location of a particular POI is achieved by finding the horizontal and vertical coordinates, on the respective legends and noting where imaginary horizontal and vertical lines extending from the respective coordinate legends intersect on the map.
The Places of Interest file is only partially complete at this stage of development (June 2007). As the file grows additional card holders will be added to the panel.
