Eoin Macpherson was the third individual to serve as Curator of the Museum. When he began in 1966 the only exhibits on display were those located in what is now called the Drumochter Room. He is shown in the photograph at the left side of the composite which illustrates the crowded conditions that exited before the first extension was added in 1970. Even at that only a small fraction of the holdings were on display.
The photograph of the House at the right hints at the possibility of land available for expansion to the rear of the building. The map does show the strategic location of the building at the intersection of the A9 and A86 highways. Before today's A9 bypass was constructed all traffic bound for Inverness and points north or traffic bound for Perth and points south passed in front of the Clan House. Of course, the A86 is the main road to Fort William and other points to the West.
