The armiger is the eldest son of the late Col. E R Rivers-Macpherson , OBE

The shield is the plain Cluny Arms "differenced" by a bordure that is half "Dalchully" and half "compony" to indicate that he is not "of Dalchully" although related though a cousin. Col Rivers was the founder of the Canadian Branch in 1948.
