Shield 40

Arms of Rt Rev Colin A Macpherson,
Roman Catholic Bishop of Argyll and The Isles

The border in these Arms is an integral part of the shield design and not simply an indication of "cadency". The "Cat's faces" within the border allude to the Wildcat Crest of the Chief and this the only Macpherson shield which contains the cat as a charge. The shield is ensigned with a Bishop's mitre and an Episcopal crozier and surmounted by a green ecclesiastical hat with six tassels on each side.
