a. Portrait of Ewen Macpherson, 20th Chief of Clan Macpherson (1804-85).
The portraitist is John Alfred Horsburgh of Edinburgh (1861--1924). The portrait received conservation treatment during the closed season of 2008/2009 courtesy of a grant from the Museums Galleries Scotland, the American Friends of British Art and The Royal Celtic Society. The need for this treatment was recommended by John Charles and Anne Macpherson, Hudson, New York, USA who have generously contributed to the Museum's conservation programme.
